Blog: Gattaca

Gattaca

My brother Anton, I am sorry that I am became someone else because I had bad DNA and I really wanted to go to space; I wanted to be an astronaut. Being someone was so hard, scrubbing my DNA off and not getting caught. Because what I was doing was illegal but it was worth it. The guy I became was Jerome Murrow. A person that was paralyze in a accident, and he was able to help me enter the pathway to space. The thing the that I need was good genes and I don't have that. Jerome was able to help give DNA to me. I had to take this risk so I can get to my dream of going into space. I hope this does not anger you Anton, but this is the risk I'm going to take.

Blog 9: Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration

Photosynthesis converts light energy into sugar for the plants so they can be heart healthy organism. it consist carbon dioxide and water to form sugar. Then after that they release oxygen for us humans to breathe. Basically it use light energy to make the electrons from the water become more energetic. Thus solar energy convert to chemical energy.

Cellular Respiration: It takes place in cells and organisms. They convert energy from the nutrients to release waste products.

1. Calvin Cycle: It is related to photosynthesis because of light independent reaction. Captures carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and form NADPH then release three carbon sugars.

2. Krebs Cycle: It is related to the cellular respiration. When oxygen presents, it produces molecules from the glycolysis. Then the mitochondria goes under aerobic respiration which is the Krebs Cycle.

Blog 11. Hot Zone

Charles Monet was a lonely guy. He was away from everything and he kept things to himself. Basically he was a loner. One day he begins to get sick and keeps getting worse and worse. he threw up black vomit, headaches, and other horrible factors. I think he probably got sick by touching some stuff while he is out there in the rain forest or sexual intercourse from whoever he did it with or in contact with animals. He got sick and got to the hospital. Sadly he did not make it and he died.

Blog 10: Microbes

These little guys are very good guys. They live in our guts, mouths and skin. They are important for good health. You can say microbes help a lot of animals and humans. They provide the support of our body. Whatever we do they do. They can provide us to be healthy or sick. The microbes are the most important things in our body without them we wouldn't eat or breathe and without us they would be fine. Microbes are the air we breathe, the ground we walk, and they are even inside us. There are a lot of microbes than humans in the planet. These microbes are important because they support the earth and every living organisms such as animals, us, and plants. Without them we would all be dead. My opinion on these little guys are that they really do help us and I admire that.

Blog 7: Glycolysis

Glycolysis is the fundamental stage of cellular respiration because it is the most fastest energy maker to every living organism. They are anaerobic and they do not require oxygen which is a good thing so they don't need the need to do their stuff. The first part of cellular respiration is glycolysis. Glycolysis is anaerobic and they occur in the cytoplasm. It breaks down glucose into 3 carbon molecules called pyruvic acid. It produces 2 NADPH and 2 ATP. Why it takes place in the cytoplasm? It takes place in the cytoplasm because is where all the chemical reaction takes place.

Blog 6: GMOs

Why is GMO bad for us?

Well, GMO is really bad for us because of what it can do. It is unhealthy. It can leave a certain material and can cause long-term problems. These things are bacteria that can do harmful stuff to us. GMOs can cross pollinate and their seeds can travel forever. It is impossible to clean up and will be contaminated forever. The side effects on the GMO is unpredictable. It can produce new toxins and other such sort of harmful things. GMO can also harm living things and ruin crops. It can harm the environment really badly.

Why is GMO good for us?

They increase the need of food production for the starving countries. They reduce the pesticides and herbicides. The manipulate the foods so they can carry more good nutrients. Lastly they produce no oil at all.
